Commercial Underwriter

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a continually expanding insurance company within their commercial department.

As one of the largest insurers in the North East our client is seeking to increase staff numbers by recruiting an Underwriter to it’s team

Reporting to the Operations manager you will be assisting with achieving financial targets whilst delivering sound underwriting to provide insurers with the necessary returns. The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Implementing all necessary processing and underwriting of insurance within the agreed authority provided by insurers and as authorised by your Team Manager
- Reporting as required to the Team Manager on all processing, underwriting or employee problems
- Delivering a quality of work to comply with FSA regulations
- Supporting as required all Underwriting staff
- Help the team achieve it's financial targets whilst delivering sound underwriting to provide insurers with the necessary returns
- Building relationships with Insurers and Agents/Brokers to develop accounts to our mutual benefit
- To underwrite risks & issue accurate documentation on behalf of Insurers within agreed timescales and within authorisation given by your Team Manager
- To abide by the agreed service standards of the Company

The successful candidate will ideally have 3 years commercial underwriting experience and qualified to a minimum of CII Certificate Level. You will also have excellent communication skills and be customer focused. In return our client offers an excellent package.
